Third-party monitoring of child protection and education services for conflict-affected children across Syria.

OVERVIEW
War Child Alliance delivers life-saving nutrition, education, mental health and psychosocial support, case management, and child protection for displaced and conflict-affected children and their host communities across Syria. Under a framework agreement with War Child Alliance, JRC provides independent third-party monitoring — verifying that these services reach children effectively and surfacing what they mean for the communities they serve.

ABOUT
A monitoring assignment centred on children in crisis — assessing not only whether protection and education services are delivered, but how well they work and for whom.
APPROACH
JRC evaluates the relevance, effectiveness, efficiency, and impact of child protection and psychosocial support services, including a gender analysis exploring the outcomes of programme activities. Data collection combines site visits, surveys, key informant interviews, and focus group discussions across Der El Zour, Ar-Raqqah, Al-Hasakah, Aleppo, and Idleb — giving War Child a grounded, multi-governorate picture of how its programming performs.
